Penguins in Mar del Plata?
by Magdalena Anguiano
ICA Student- Level 8
One morning, while I was walking on the beach near my house, I suddenly found a penguin. I was perplexed to see that kind of an animal there! I was really puzzled.
I tried to catch it, but some dogs were teasing him, so I first tried to help him by beating the dogs with my shoe. When the dogs finally left the poor animal alone, I caught it with a shirt and took it home. On the way to my house, I was chuckling because I never thought that I could find a penguin! When I arrived home, I asked my mother about how we could help the penguin because he was covered with petrol and he was very hungry. My mother said that we could call the people in the Aquarium to ask them what to do. At first, I didn't want to call them, so I prepared a nice place with water and with some ragged clothes so that he could be comfortable. All my other pets were very baffled because it was something they had never seen before. I stayed with the penguin to cuddle him and I thought it would be fun to call him Nestor K! He was very aggressive and when my dog got close to him, he immediately try to prick him. That was very funny because my dog started wailing. An hour later, I realized that the best I could do for Nestor was to take him to the Aquarium so that the people there could wash him and give him the appropriate food. So I called the foundation and took him there. I'm really happy to have taken him there, because I know he will be treated with care and then, he will be left in the sea with other penguins.
