| Nowadays, AIDS
is a terrible disease that is spreading
widely around the whole world. With the current
medical advances there is a bigger chance to stop the spread
of this devastating illness. This should be accompanied
by human actions as well.
A traditional and very effective deterrent is increasing
the use of condoms at the moment of having sexual intercourse.
This not only prevents women from getting pregnant but it
also helps people from catching this disease. People should
also be careful about whom they have sexual relations with.
In this aspect, AIDS carriers should be thoughtful and considerate
towards the other person and they should let him or her
know about their illness before having sex. Another threatening
way of catching AIDS is drug consumption. When people inject
drugs, they usually share needles. This is a mistake as
big as it is to consume drugs since AIDS is found in blood.
Another possible solution lies in medical research. Through
the last years, there have been a lot of medical and technological
breakthroughs that should be widely applied.
Scientists should focus their attention on trying to create
a vaccine or any kind of medicine that can prevent people
from catching AIDS. There should also be propaganda and
more economic resources so that more people can have access
to any possible solution provided by scientists, such as
vaccines or pills, among others. Propaganda would also make
people become aware of the dangers of this illness and would
help people take the necessary precautions so as not to
catch it.
To conclude, I would say that even though AIDS is spreading
around the world, there are many ways to deter
this. They imply not only people's actions but also medical
advances and both should be improved to get better results.
