DANIEL BAINO´s
work portrays the language of the sea and its shores.
The merging of the sea and the sand is a
cyclical site of construction and creation; the fruitful land
that gives birth to plastic symbols. Fish, seashells, and
starfish are washed ashore in the artist's
paintings: profound, unique and local, yet universal.
Both distinct and familiar, Baino´s paintings carry
the echoes of a whole tradition along with them. The resonance
of his predecessors beckons to us through
his canvases. A disciple of Adolfo Nigro,
the artist draws on Torres Garcia´s legacy,
rendering his identity both international
and purely South American.
Daniel Baino´s universe of tone, intersection, fusion,
contact, rhythm and essence gives shape to a unique language,
the language of the genesis, the language of the sea...
